Simulation Study on Geometric Parameters Influencing the Flow Coefficient of Perforated Plate

Natural ventilation is one of the vital means for passive energy-efficient design in green buildings. As a widely used building façade, perforated plate mostly utilized appearance decoration, noise absorption, and sun shading, but its impact on natural effect has rarely been paid attention to. In this study, influence perforation rate, size, shape flow coefficient were simulated using commercial CFD software Fluent, correlation between these geometric parameters was then regressed. The results show that increases with increase which slightly greater than ordinary openings, corresponding coefficients different holes rank as circle > square triangle under same conditions. when size small. addition, less affected by round compared to triangular holes. regression model indicates both rate have considerable positive coefficient, while negative circular hole. Moreover, plates greatest are shape, descending order.
